May 2006 Equality Fairfax Membership Meeting

The May Equality Fairfax meeting kicked off the campaign against the evil Marshall/Newman anti-marriage amendment. Several speakers from the General Assembly came to speak as well as Matt Foreman of the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force. The overall campaign is beng run by the Commonwealth Coalition, a group of organizations, business and individuals dedicated to defeating the amendment.

2006 Commonwealth Dinner

This was my first, but I think the third Commonwealth Dinner held by Equality Virginia. I usually dread these sorts of events but I enjoyed this one, in large part of the speech given by former U.S. Senator Robb. He gave a great speech and I’m glad I was there to hear it.

Not many photos from the night, but what few I took are here.

EF @ Foxfire Grill, March 2006

These are a bit late getting posted but, better late than never. This set is a few photos from the Equality Fairfax Second Saturdays @ Foxfire Grill events. These are being held the second Saturday of each month at the Foxfire Grill.

These are also the first photos with a Canon A620 that I bought as a "keep with me all the time" camera for those times when it’s impossible or impractical to have my 20D with me. It’s certainly not DSLR quality, but it’s reasonably fast, has good battery life and is small enough to keep in my purse. I’ll probably end up using it for a lot of these type of events.

EF @ Foxfire Grill

Equality Fairfax had its initial "Second Saturdays" event at Foxfire Grill. Except that this was the third Saturday because we got snowed out on the second Saturday. However, despite the change in date, the event was a lot of fun.

Not many photos…it was very dark inside so flash was a necessity and I didn’t want to blind people any more than I needed to so my photos are confined to the table where I ate dinner.
