Death of a Server

Harmonius Raspberry took a sudden turn for the worste last week. The power supply on the server I was using to host the site failed and appears to have taken the motherboard with it. I suppose it didn't want to die alone.

My apologies for the downtime. My further apologies for the state of the current incarnation. I'm taking this as a hint that perhaps I shouldn't bother to host the site on my own system and am trying out hosting alternatives.

Eventually, I'll have things working properly again, but for now...not so much. I'm using flickr to host my photos. You can get to them at http://www.flickr.com/photos/ac4lt/sets/. Having the photo hosting seperate from the blog hosting isn't ideal, but it does get things going fairly quickly.

All the blog content is still unavailable. I hope to salvage most of it, but it will depend on how long it takes me to get that system operational. Photos are gradually being moved onto flickr. The most recent few months are there now, but it will take some time to get everything there.

All the user accounts on the old system died with the system. You don't need an account here but you do need a flickr account if you want to leave comments for photos.

I'll post more detail as I work them out.
