Taking a page from the notebook of Baron von Frankenstein, I have
successfully re-animated a dead website. Let us hope it has a better
outcome than Mary Shelley's character.
Here's a synopsis of what happened:
The power supply on the computer I was using as a server died. Not
wishing to die alone, it took the motherboard with it. I decided that
this might be the ideal time to consider hosting the site elsewhere so
that I could get the noise of the computer out of my domicile.
I began looking around and ultimately decided on a two pronged approach. I would host the photos at
flickr and the blog at
BlogHarbor. I had originally considered another hosting site but it proved less than reliable.
The only downside is that I have to upload all of my photos to flickr
and I need to recreate all of my old blog content here. The
former is in progress but the latter will require me to get the data
off the, now dormant, disks. When, or even if, this will happen is not
yet known.
For those that were using email notification or RSS readers, you will
need to update your settings. For email notification, you can select
the "subscribe" link on this site and for those using RSS, you can
select the RSS feed for the categories you are interested in (the "main
page" category will show you everything).
I apologize for the sudden changes but hopefully this will be the last change for a long time.
