Unfortunately, I think the author is giving far too much credence to Bush's "compassionate conservatism" claim. The veto has already been threatened and it seems Bush has lately begun to enjoy wielding his veto pen.

This research certainly doesn't prove anything but it does suggest a strong genetic component is at work. At least in right-handed gay men...

I don't smoke. I can't stand cigarette or cigar smoke. I tried to instigate a crusade against smoking in the workplace back when a former employer allowed it (I failed). I quit a bowling league because the smoke just got to be too much for me. So, it's clear I'm not friendly towards smokers. But, this type of policy must be stopped.  Read more... »
